I'm the proud author of seven novels and one novella. I co-authored a photo-essay book titled Jewels with a very talented photographer, Michael Cunningham.
My first novel, Sisters and Lovers, sold wildly all across the globe including in England, France and Japan. It appeared on many bestseller lists such as the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Boston Globe, USA Today, and Essence magazine. To date, more than 100,000 hardcover and 500,000 paperback copies have sold, and I still get royalties for that novel to this very day. Sisters and Lovers surpassed all projections and it completely changed my life for the better.
Another one of my novels, Big Girls Don’t Cry, hit many bestseller lists as well, including the New York Times.
Early in 2017, I began to teach the craft of fiction writing online. I remember being a young, aspiring author and how much courses and books about writing helped me. We didn't have the benefits of online classes back then, but if we had been so fortunate I'm sure I would have been all over them.
To date, I've had more than 70 students pass through the gates of my pilot online course. I hope to see many more in the months and years ahead as I relaunch that first course and roll out others. I want to help as many aspiring authors as I can to reach their writing goals and dreams.
Now for a little about me personally. As you can probably tell from the photo above, I love the beach. I also love making jewelry. And hanging out with my family and close friends.
