I’ve been a full-time published author for more than 10 years, with five novels, one photo-essay book and one novella published to date. I’ve worked with HarperCollins, Doubleday, Ballentine, and Harlequin. My work has hit many major best-seller lists, including the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, USA Today Weekend, and Essence magazine.
I’m currently at work on my sixth novel, a sequel to the novel that started it all, Sisters and Lovers, which sold more than 750,000 copies. The sequel is titled Sisters and Husbands and will be published by Grand Central Publishing in the spring of 2009.

OK, that’s enough about me for now. (If you want more head over to the page about my books.) My blog here at Page One will be more about you, and this is where I’ll share with you what I’ve learned over the years about writing and promoting books. Here’s what you’ll find at Page One–
Writing Tips and Promotion Tips: At least once a week I’ll talk about topics such as how to deal with writer’s block, how to dig deep and unleash inspiration, how to make the time to write, how to finding an agent, how to promote your work and resources for writers.
Connie Briscoe Presents: I don’t know it all and won’t pretend to. That’s why about once a week, I’ll present a guest. Sometimes the guest will be an author who shares details about how she or he survives–and even thrives–in the publishing business. Other times the guest will be someone who works with authors, such as editors, publicists and agents, and who can offer valuable tips about the other side of the publishing business–promoting yourself and your work.
News & Community Events: I’ll also share news and information about community and publishing events as well as things related to the craft of writing.
So whether you’re already a published author looking for advice and guidance on how to improve your writing skills and how to better promote yourself, or whether you’re an aspiring author looking to get into the biz, you should find something here on Page One. I hope you’ll stop by often.
